A Good Lesson

Many years ago in China there lived a man named Long Danzi. He maried a diligent wife
called Lu Nu,but she was as vain as a peacock. They had a son, Chang Qing.He daydreamed all day long. Once, his mama told him to go on an errand for her, so she said, " You are to wash the clothes at the river."
"Yes, mama."
"Will you look around for carts?"
"Yes, mama."
"Will you drown?"
"Yes, mama."
Really!
Another time, his mama played with him. It was his turn, but he forgot, as he was in a fantasy world, where the only limit was his imagination.
One day, his mama was putting glazed egg-whites on her face and red ground powder on her lips, "Sow the seeds, would you, Chang Qing? You know papa's gone to help the fighting, so he isn't here." But then Chang Qing forgot what he was supposed to do, as he was dreaming about dashing princes and gallant knights. He left the house and went to the cave beside the river, where he could venture into swashbuckling adventures and meet notorious pirates in peace.
It was already dark when Chang Qing came back to reality. he dashed back to his village home, but there a stern scolding was waiting for him.
Chang Qing swore to the shimmering moon and the glimmering stars that he would never ever daydream too much again. Deep remorse pushed its way out from the bottom of his heart when his family had no crops that year.
Chang Qing became very focused boy from that day on. He no longer daydreamed so much. Instead, he became a smart boy that later was known as Qing-Yi Emperor.
